A Colorado high school student has accomplished something that's definitely for the books. Brandy Carrasquilla has completed three years of high school in one.

Brandy Carrasquillo's hard work and strength is not going unnoticed. She is an amazing girl who has been through some rough stuff. But Brandy didn't let it break her, she let it inspire her.

She lost her brother last year and it truly hurt her. Brandy felt like there was no point in even trying:

I'm just going to fail. I'm going to end up in jail or dead.

Then, something changed in her junior year. Brandy knew that she had to do it for her brother. She wanted to make him proud so she did something absolutely outstanding and has literally made history.

Brandy is the first person at Mitchell High School in Colorado Springs to complete three years of high school in one year. She's completed 29 credits in just one year by going to school from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.

This is a true example of letting what you go through give you strength and motivation versus breaking you. I'm so proud of Brandy for being so strong and accomplishing so much in so little time. She's going to study criminal law and I'm sure she'll be outstanding at that too.
