Nothing says Colorado like a bighorn sheep.

Facebooker Chelsea Leigh Stills was at Estes Park when she encountered the official state animal of Colorado.

Obviously, this dude is comfortable in a crowd as it continued to graze alongside the road despite the camera attention. What a beautiful and majestic animal.

The Rocky Mountain Bighorn has been Colorado's official state animal since 1961. There are an estimated 7,000 bighorns in the state, and about 100 are legally harvested each year by hunters. I'm always thankful for Coloradoans like Chelsea, who share their wildlife encounters with the rest of us.
