For a corner In Loveland that has seen it's share of things coming and going over the last ten years, this sounds like a business that has "legs," as they say.  They already have four shops in Colorado, with their New England-style ice cream, Loveland will make five.

Downtown Loveland has given ice cream shops a couple of tries, and Mary's Mountain Cookies does have ice cream, but these folks look like the mean "business." The location puts them in a great spot to succeed, will they?

When you hear about Hidden Valley Ranch-flavored, and "Chicken & Waffles"-flavored ice creams, it's nice to hear about an ice cream shop that pretty much sticks to the basics. Only, they take the "basics" and upgrade them, to produce their uniquely-Colorado New England ice cream.

Way back in the day, this corner in Downtown Loveland was home to a realty firm. Even today, remnants of their sign remain - It honestly feels like if they really do take down the sign, it will unravel some part of Loveland's infrastructure.

RELATED: HOW MANY PINTS OF ICE CREAM WOULD FIT INTO THE OLD TOWN CHURN?

Coming in April of 2023, the gang at Josh & John's will be opening their first shop in Loveland at the northwest corner of 5th Street and Cleveland. I wonder now, what was President Grover Cleveland's favorite ice cream? I digress. I have heard of Josh & John's but haven't tried them yet. Them coming to Loveland did catch me by surprise when I was out walking in the area the other day.

This corner has seen Sennett's Realty, it has seen a Lutherie that was there for a long time, it's seen a hair salon, and was set to be a blues and and BBQ place at one time. Now, it really feels like the right business has come along to help make 5th and Cleveland a "happening" corner in Downtown.

Josh & John's began in 1986 in Colorado Springs, by two close friends. Today, nearly 50 years later, their one-of-a-kind churn in Colorado Springs produces 2,000 gallons of ice cream every week. They have their "No Milk, No Whey" vegan/vegetarian option and even have "Scoop Buses."

ARE THEY REALLY GIVING AWAY FREE ICE CREAM FOR THE NEW SHOP?

It's true. All you have to do is visit their website and get signed up for $5 to use at the Loveland location, after it opens on April 1, 2023.
