There will be plenty of free family fun featured at the 10th annual Outdoor Heritage Day.

The annual event at Palisade's Riverbend Park gets kids and their parents outdoors to enjoy some fun activities and to expose them to many of the great things they can do outdoors. This is the 10th year of this event, but it seems like there are still plenty of folks who don't know about it.

Activities included in this annual event is fishing in the freshly stocked pond, paddle boarding, safe and responsible shooting with archery gear and a .22 rifle in our portable range and BB gun shooting. Kids can also see a real CPW patrol boat,  and learn about wildlife. Plus, the first 200 kids receive a free t-shirt to celebrate the day.

The best part of this event is that it gets kids outside, off the couch, and away from their video games. The second best thing about this event is that it is free - no admission. The third best thing about it is the free hot dog lunch.

The Outdoor Heritage Day will be April 29 beginning at 9 AM rain or shine.

If you have kids and you don't have other plans, this will be an event the kids will love - which in turn will make moms and dads really really happy.
