Palisade High School Closed Due to Sick Students and Staff
Palisade High School is currently closed for the remainder of today and tomorrow. The high school near Grand Junction closed due to sick students and staff.
District 51 just announced on their Facebook that one of their high schools is closed for the rest of today (Nov. 14) as well as tomorrow (Nov. 15.). Palisade High School is closed because they're down with the sickness, literally.
So many students and staff members are sick right now, that the school is closed to minimize the spread of any illness, according to District 51's website. Palisade High School is closed from 10:30 a.m. today until Monday, Nov. 18. The school is closed so cleaning crews can deep clean the campus, according to D51.
District 51 stated that students who usually take the bus will be picked up by buses, and students who drive can drive home if possible. D51 cannot confirm the source of cause of illness and advises students to stay home if the following has occurred:
- They have vomited more than twice in the last 24 hours
- Vomit looks green of bloody
- They have a fever or diarrhea
- They recently had a head injury
District 51 says that student and staff health and safety is always their priority. They stated they feel that closing the school for cleaning and allowing students/staff to rest and not continue to spread the illness, is in everyone's best interest, according to D51's website.
'Tis the season for sickness, so make sure you're taking care of yourself.
