The Denver Broncos announced their 2018-19 team roster over the weekend and there were a few surprises.

Most notable, the release of former first round draft pick Paxton Lynch. Taken in the first round of the 2016 draft, Lynch was expected to be the quarterback of the future for Denver, but is, instead, a failed draft pick. The team signed Kevin Hogan to be their 3rd string quarterback.

Royce Freeman.a rookie from the University of Oregon, was announced as the starting running back instead of Devontae Booker, who had been named to that position after the team traded C.J. Anderson. And former University of Colorado running back Phillip Lindsay made the team as well, and received the blessing of Terrell Davis to wear the iconic number 30.

This year's draft picks fared much better than the last few years as Courtland Sutton was named a starting wide receiver as a rookie, as well as DeSean Hamilton. Other rookies named to the team include Bradley Chubb (starter), Isaac Yiadom and Josey Jewell.

Last season, the Broncos finished the year with a record of 5-11. One of the main reasons for that record was quarterback play. Case Keenum has taken the reigns as the starter and last year's 7th round pick, Chad Kelly has earned the backup spot. More consistent play from that position will turn the record around this year, along with all of the additions the team has made.

So my prediction for the Denver Broncos 2018 record is: 11-5.

See you in the playoffs!
