It's hard to believe that a bull elk could tolerate something like this for so long. Video shows one of these beautiful beasts that had a tire around its neck for two years, but there's good news to pass along.

I saw this video making the rounds today and it's a crazy combination of bad things.

Many on YouTube were bewildered that the video mentioned the tire was removed, but that wasn't visible anywhere in the video that was shared. I did some research and found a USA Today story that appears to be referring to this animal.


Based on the Twitter share, it appears the heroes are the citizens who reported the elk's whereabouts to authorities. Whew. I have no idea how a bull elk ends up with this type of situation, but at least we can know that this animal is back in the wild now where it belongs without an automotive accessory.
