Nothing says 'thank you' like free burritos.

Denver Broncos rookie guard Dalton Risner was one of the bright spots this season that saw the Broncos miss the playoffs for the fourth consecutive year. The second-round draft pick out of Kansas State started every game this season and gives Bronco Country hope that the offensive line woes in recent years are becoming a thing of the past.

Like his teammate, running back Phillip Lindsay, Risner is a Colorado High School product. One big difference is Lindsay attended Denver's big South High School, with an enrollment of over 1500 students. Risner, on the other hand, attended Wiggins High School with an enrollment of about 150 students.

According to Rotoworld, Risner signed a 4-year contract this past year with the Broncos worth $7.1 million along with a $3.2 million signing bonus. Not bad for the kid from the tiny town of Wiggins, Colorado along Interstate 76 - population 887.

It's really cool that Dalton Risner is returning to Wiggins to say thanks to the state of Colorado, northeastern Colorado communities, Broncos fans, and the town of Wiggins. On his Facebook page, Dalton says he's going to be in Wiggins on January 17 from 6:30 pm-8:30 pm at the Wiggins High School Event Center. He'll sign autographs and do pictures, and deliver a short inspirational message. Plus, there will be a "limited supply" of dinner burritos.

I sure hope they have lots of burritos because I guarantee there will be standing room only at this event, and folks will be coming from miles around to be a part of this event. The gathering is being sponsored by Dalton's foundation RisnerUP, created to "positively impact others through love and kindness."

Dalton Risner is a great Colorado story, a great addition to the Denver Broncos for years to come, and an outstanding young man. What's really cool is that despite his NFL success and big contract, he's not too big for the tiny town of Wiggins.
