Meanwhile, in Colorado...there's a new video that has quite a few twists and turns. It's a Colorado squirrel named Phil who's actually a girl who was busted for entering a home, grabbing some snacks and bolting. It's actually kind of nuts. Really. Squirrel pun intended.

So how did Phil, the Denver, Colorado girl squirrel, suddenly become internet famous? Here's what his/her owner shared on Rumble:

Phil, whom I once thought was a boy until she got knocked up, loves peanuts. Every morning she flings herself onto my screen door and climbs up and down until I feed her and fill her water bowl. It was only recently that I discovered that she can open the doggy door herself. The jar that I keep her peanuts in was torn open and cleaned out. She also eats right out of my hand.

Watch Phil in action.

It's more proof that things are done different in Denver.

Ironically, it's the website More Birds that has some great squirrel feeding tips. They say that "in general, squirrels eat a mixture of seeds, nuts, corn, fruit, leaves, fungi and bark." Nowhere do they mention creating a dog door they can use to come inside. Curious.

Good for Phil that he/she has managed to become a kept squirrel with a faithful owner that makes sure the food door is always open.
