Two Coloradans Summit 17 Peaks + Hike 20,000 Feet in 36 Hours

Two Coloradans took on the CDUL, the Continental Divide Ultimate Linkup. The Colorado duo's CDUL meant hike 20,000 feet and summit 17 peaks in just 36 hours.

World-renowned climbers Alex Honnold and Tommy Caldwell took on a huge challenge here in Colorado -- the CDUL, which stands for the Continental Divide Ultimate LInkup. According to Out There Colorado, the CDUL included 65 pitches on 11 classic climbing routes, ranging from 5.6 to 5.11-minus in difficulty.

The duo from Colorado says that they can't even classify this as hiking necessarily because the terrain is so rugged. Together they 'hiked' 20,000 feet and summited 17 peaks in just 36 hours, which is absolutely incredible.

Alex Honnold and Tommy Caldwell traveled from Meeker to Notchtop which according to Alex Honnold:

...required basically 36 hours of constant movement with roughly 20k of vertical and 35 miles of scrambling between the peaks.

Both Alex and Tommy are incredible, world-renowned climbers. Alex Honnold is known for his ropeless free climb on Yosemite's El Capitan, according to Out There Colorado. Tommy Caldwell is known for his first ascent up Dawn Wall alongside Kevin Jorgeson, who is known for free climbing. Dawn Wall at El Capitan in Yosemite is often considered the most difficult wall climb int the world, according to Out There Colorado.

Congratulations to both of these guys for conquering an amazing challenge. Hiking 20,000 feet and summiting 17 peaks in 36 hours is astounding. It's crazy what humans can accomplish when we push ourselves.
