As gorgeous as Northern Colorado is, it can be tempting to laze around the house all day. Thankfully, the City of Loveland has an incentive to get you off the couch and out into the world.

According to a Wednesday (April 27) press release, the City is offering a Ticket to Trails Passport that encourages the public to explore the trails in the Sweetheart City.

The passport features seven trails: North Trail, Boyd Lake Trail, Civic Center Trail, Big Thompson River Trail, Westside Trail, Front Range Trail, and Long View Trail. If you visit all of the trails, you get a prize.

"The City's 26 miles of paved recreation trails and 30 miles of natural-surface trails offer a multitude of options for walking, biking, and other non-motorized recreation," read the release. "Residents are encouraged to explore new areas and try out new trails and bikeways to enjoy all Loveland has to offer."

You can pick up your passport at Loveland's Parks and Recreation Office (500 E Third Street) and the Chilson Recreation-Senior Center (700 E Fourth Street), or by printing it out online here.

The City has created a bikeways and trails map to help you navigate natural areas. You can also find trail information through the Colorado Trail Explorer (COTREX).

Once you've visited the passport's seven trails, redeem it at the Parks and Recreation Office to claim your prize. The City is encouraging participants to abide by the following trail guidelines:

  • Bike or walk on the right side of the trail.
  • Keep your group in a single-file line if someone else needs to pass.
  • If you're riding a bike, yield to walkers on the trail.
  • Slow down near other trail users and do not speed.

While you're exploring the City's trails, you can try exploring its restaurants too. Check out the highest-rated Loveland restaurants on Tripadvisor in the gallery below.
