The Town of Garden City, located in Weld County, Colorado, has a rich history of freedom fighters. Towards the end of prohibition in the 1930s, many citizens of Greeley cast their vote to continue to ban alcohol sales, but Garden City wouldn't have it. They fought back and, guess what? They won.

Today, In honor of this, Garden City now hosts Bootleggin' Days. This two-day celebration is happening August 26-27 and is 100 percent free to the public.

Garden City Police Officer, Andrew Brown, told "Tuned In to NoCo" that they have a great line-up of activities planned. Including a special batch of watermelon moonshine that is being specifically made for the celebration, a comedy show and something really neat for the kids too.

"We are going to have an awesome kid safari. So, bring the kids down. We are going to set up a rainforest for the kids to walk through. It will be a nice cool place to go. We'll have Roo Jumps along with our food vendors, and then we cap the night off with a comedy show with Vinnie Montez.

Brown says they are so excited to celebrate the rich history of Garden City with everyone, and they hope to see you there.

"This is a way for our Board of Trustees and theTown Board to give back...It's open to everybody, not just residents of Garden City. So, please come down and enjoy yourself."
