Cam Newton passed for two touchdowns and ran for another score, and the Carolina Panthers dominated the Buccaneers, 31-13, in Tampa on Thursday night. Carolina (4-3) moved to over .500 for the first time in five years, and Tampa Bay (0-7) remained winless.

The Panthers jumped out to a 14-6 halftime lead on the strength of Newton's 1-yard touchdown pass to Greg Olsen in the first quarter and DeAngelo Williams' 12-yard scoring run in the second quarter.

Carolina pushed its lead to 28-6 on Newton's 6-yard scoring dash with 6:27 left in the third quarter and his 3-yard TD pass to Mike Tolbert at the beginning of the fourth.

Newton finished with 221 yards and two scores through the air and 50 rushing yards and a touchdown on the ground.

Buccaneers' quarterback Mike Glennon threw for 275 yards, including a meaningless 10-yard touchdown pass to Tim Wright with 2:53 to play.
