Three Holes-In-One Recorded at Colorado Fundraiser

There was definitely something in the water or air at a fundraiser in Aspen where three holes-in-one were recorded in the same tournament.

Anyone who plays golf knows how rare a hole-in-one is. According to the National Hole-In-One Registry, the odds of an average golfer getting an ace is 12,000 to 1. Even for a professional golfer, the chance of scoring a hole-in-one is pretty slim at 3,000 to 1.

So, when three individuals in the Challenge Aspen golf tournament at Snowmass Golf Club scored a hole-in-one it raised some eyebrows, not because they were suspicious, but simply because it's such a rare feat.

According to the Aspen Times, one of the golfers won a new car for his hole-in-one, while the other two will have to settle for the satisfaction of telling their unique golf story for the rest of their lives.

Most of us will never know the feeling of scoring that elusive hole-in-one. During the course of the year, fewer than 2% of golfers accomplish the feat, so we better not be holding our breath. The photo above shows how close I was to a hole-in-one recently, about two feet, which is as close as I have ever been so far. I figure my time is coming.
