Police report that three people are dead in a shooting at a Wal-Mart in Thornton last night (Nov. 1).

Thornton police reported that as of right now, there is NO suspect in custody. They are in search of a middle-aged man wearing a maroon shirt,  jeans and black jacket. See photo.

Thornton police received a call around 6:10 Wednesday evening to report the incident. It was the Wal-Mart located on Grant Street.

The call came into dispatch at 6:10 p.m. to report a shooting inside the Grant Street Walmart location, police said.

One woman and two men have been confirmed killed by the suspect who simply walked into the front of the Wal-Mart near the registers and then took out a handgun and randomly began to open fire. Afterward, he was able to escape the store and drive away from the scene driving in a red Mitsubishi Mirage Hatchback.
