Do not eat if you are sensitive to spicy foods, allergic to peppers, nightshades, or capsaicin, or are pregnant or have any medical conditions. Keep out of reach of children. After touching the chip, wash your hands with soap and do not touch your eyes or other sensitive areas. Seek medical assistance should you experienve difficulty breathing, fainting or nausea.

Paqui does not have an official Scoville rating for the 2022 One Chip Challenge. However, the Carolina Reaper pepper is approximately 1.7 million Scoville units and the Scorpion pepper is approximately 1.2 million Scoville units.

Huerfano RE-1 School District's Superintendent, Mike Moore, shared a post on the official Facebook page stating that students that bring the Paqui One Chip Challenge to schools, let alone encouraging others to take the challenge, will be suspended.

The Facebook post also states that numerous students across the nation have been hospitalized due to the extreme heat index from the super hot chip. The entire post can be seen here:

I have personally taken the One Chip Challenge about five years ago. It was miserable. I can stand the heat from spicy food, but this was on a whole new level. Honestly, it felt like I ate a bottle of Icy Hot and chased it with a shot of gasoline. Not to mention the taste of the Carolina Reaper pepper. Truly a disgusting taste.

If you haven't seen the One Chip Challenge, here is a short video of what happens when you eat the Paqui One Chip Challenge chip.
