Discus thrower Valarie Allman won the first track and field gold medal for the United States at the Tokyo Games.

Colorado Mesa University sports teams are traveling for their respective games this weekend, and although most of the games are in-state, two of CMU’s teams are traveling as far as Las Vegas, N.M. and Winter Park, Florida.
