Sled Hockey For Disabled Veterans Comes to Grand Junction
You don't have to be a hockey fan to know that sled hockey for disabled athletes is a really good idea.
Glacier Ice Arena will host this first Grand Junction event on Wednesday (May 3) from 5PM-7PM.
The public in invited to come watch these amazing athletes on the ice. There will even be a chance for you to give a try if you would like, so come on out. It would be great to come out and support the veterans.
Sled Hockey is played sitting down on a special sled, and players propel themselves by using the top end of their hockey sticks - while using the other end to pass and shoot the puck.
There are sled hockey teams all across the country - including Denver and Salt Lake City. Who knows, maybe Grand Junction will get it's own sled hockey team.
