The Sara Lee Bakery Outlet store in Grand Junction is closing. A sign by the doors announced the store closing on November 5, 2016. It was not a local decision.

Deb, John and Traci state in the sign above that the outlet, located in in the Village Fair center at the southwest corner of 12th Street and Patterson, will be closing this Friday. A second sign under the above one explained that the decision to close was made at the corporate level and that the products that are sold at the store will now be going to Commerce City in the Denver metro area.

I loved shopping at the outlet store for bread, hamburger and hot dog buns. The cost is about one-third what you pay at the grocery store. This was the high-quality whole grain Sara Lee bread products. They also offered snack cakes, cookies, and more at the store. I am sad to see it go and surprised also. The store appeared to be always busy.

I will miss you when you are gone and was happy that you were there to save me money all these years.
