Love me. Two simple words that mean a whole lot to three special dogs at the Roice-Hurst Humane Society.

To an adoptive owner, the dog's sign would be rewritten to say 'love you' the making for a long lasting relationship.

If they could, these dogs would search for their perfect owner. But since that can't happen, it's up to potential owners to search for the perfect dog. A great place to start is the Roice-Hurst Humane Society.

    Rainey

    8-Year-Old Hound/Shepherd Mix

Rainey has been featured as an adoptable pet before, but she still hasn't found someone who wants to take her home. Still, she has hope there's someone who wants a mature companion.

Rainey is a large (81 pound) spayed female. She's very cautious and fearful of children. Her dream home is a calm adult home, possibly with another dog but no cats.

She's old enough to just want a place to call home. Other than lots of love and good care, she doesn't really need much to keep her happy.

Rainey is keen on companionship and enjoys walks as well as quiet time. Just being around and part of a human family is her dream.

    Neve

    1-Year-Old Australian Cattle Dog

Neve is a medium sized (37 pounds) spayed female who loves to be outside.

She's very active and thrives on plenty of exercise so if you're active, she could be a great companion.

The staff at Roice-Hurst have found her to be very intelligent and confident, but also independent so obedience classes would be a great way to help her mature.

Even though she likes people, Neve is a one-owner, one dog kind of canine. So, she would not be good with a family or other pets. She's more suited for a single person or an adult couple.

    Speckles

    Cattle Dog Mix

Speckles is a medium sized (38 pounds) neutered male who's favorite words are 'let's go!'

He has the energy and stamina to hike, jog or run for miles or play for hours. He wants to know when he's making you happy so positive reinforcement and some treats will assure him he's behaving properly.

Speckles is also curious and love to smell his surroundings and watch birds, squirrels and the like because he wants to know everything that is going on around him.

He might enjoy the company of another dog, but an introduction to see if they could be friends is important before you take him home.

Speckles is sensitive to too much touching, so he's not really a fan of children. He also has a bit of hunting instinct, so a home with cats or other small animals might be too tempting until he gets some good training and matures a bit more.
