It sure has been cold, lately. Maybe that's why this racoon was holed up inside a popular hardware store in Boulder. Luckily, they got video of the "chase" that took place, while getting him out of there.

There's a lot of good stuff in the short video regarding this racoon capture: The seasoned store workers, the well-intentioned officer sent to get the racoon, the "shopping cart block." It's a video that will make your day.

McGuckin Hardware, "McGuckins," is a legendary hardware store in Boulder, Colorado, having been established in 1955. Apparently, it's not only popular with the people, but with rogue racoons, as well. It was earlier in 2023, that a racoon was roaming a Colorado Kohls for three weeks. What's the deal?

It's not clear in the video as to what time of day this "incident" went down at McGuckin, but it does appear it happened on Groundhog Day, 2023. While most of the nation was concerned about a gopher, there were several people trying to round up this racoon, whom I'll name "Ricardo." Ricardo the Racoon, gave it a pretty good shot a getting away, but, no.

The scene opens with Ricardo the Racoon's tail sticking out from some paneling at the rear of the hardware store, as if to say, "You can't see me.."

Next, you see the officer, with the help of an employee and another, bringing up the capture-thingy to get the racoon. All seems like it will go just fine.

Then, things get crazy. Ricardo says, "Nope, nice try; I'm outta here."

Ricardo hits the tiled floor and floors it.

In the video, you hear the officer shout, "get the kennel," as they all scurry to get Ricardo before he hides somewhere else.
