The Larimer County Sheriff's Office has decided that there was no criminal intent in the case of the Berthoud Elementary substitute teacher allegedly "yanking" on a first-grader's arm.

The incident occurred on October 17, when a first-grader came home from school with a mark on his arm. The Loveland Reporter-Herald reported that the substitute teacher had allegedly yelled at the student and yanked his arm hard enough to leave that mark earlier that day, according to the boy's father.

A district spokesperson says that the investigation is ongoing, and during this time the substitute teacher (whose name has not been released) will not be scheduled to teach in the district. As of right now, no charges will be filed.
