If the New Year's Day Winter Classic had you reminiscing back to when the Avs played an outdoor game at Coors Field in 2016, you're in luck – as it was announced during the game on Tuesday that outside hockey will be returning to Colorado next year.

While it won't be for the Winter Classic, the NHL Commissioner stated that the Colorado Avalanche are slated to play a Stadium Series game on February 15, 2020.

Falcon Stadium at the U.S. Air Force Academy in the Springs will play host to the special series game, which began in 2014 and are always held in either a baseball or football stadium. This is the very first outdoor hockey game to be played at Falcon Stadium, but who the Av's will face off against has yet to be announced.

Tickets have not been made available for purchase as of January 2019, but once they are, the team said that both season ticket holders and partial plan members will have access to pre-sales prior to everyone else.
