Two first place teams are squaring off tonight in Milwaukee as the Brewers open up a three-game series with Washington.

The Brewers lead the National League Central by 5 ½ games over St. Louis while the Nationals top the Braves by 1 ½ games in the NL East. On the mound tonight are Gio Gonzalez for the visiting Nats and Matt Garza for the Brewers. After a slow start to the season Garza has had five straight good outings while Gonzalez is getting his second start since coming off the disabled list. He missed more than a month with left shoulder inflammation.

There's another good matchup tonight in Toronto as the Blue Jays entertain the Yankees. In the American League East, the Jays are tops by 1 ½ games over the Yankees and Orioles. This is also the first of a three-game set, with Chase Whitley on the mound for the New Yorkers against Marcus Stroman. The Orioles kick off a series with the White Sox tonight in Baltimore.

The rest of the schedule has Pittsburgh playing at Tampa Bay, the Royals at home to the Dodgers, Boston in Seattle, the Phillies hosting the Marlins, the Reds in Chicago to play the Cubs, Colorado at home to the Cardinals and San Diego at San Francisco.
