We probably won't be cheering on the Rams this fall.

According to a press release from Mountain West, the organization is indefinitely postponing all fall sports, including football, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Men's and women's cross country, women's soccer, and women's volleyball are also postponed. The fate of winter sports is still up in the air.

"This is certainly a disappointing development for our student-athletes, coaches, and staff who have devoted their full attention to get ready for a fall season," said Colorado State University's Director of Athletics Joe Parker in a statement about the postponement. "However, as the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic has altered our landscape, we have always stressed that the health and safety of our student-athletes and community at large is the most important factor driving our decision-making process."

The Mountain West is currently looking into the possibility of rescheduling fall sports in the spring season. The conference will also work with state and local campuses to evaluate the safest training options for student-athletes.

"With the postponement of fall sports, we will devote our full attention to ensuring our student-athletes can have the most meaningful experience which they rightly deserve," said Parker.
