Montrose Woman Beheads Dog in Standoff
A Montrose woman stabbed and beheaded her dog, then barricaded herself inside her home.
The woman also had on a gas mask to help her fight off the chemical agent introduced into the situation on Tuesday. She apparently had wounds of her own as well as upon arrest she was taken to the hospital.
The roommate of the woman called police after gaining access to the home and discovering the dog. Once the police arrived they found she had shut herself inside her home and would not respond to officers.
Officers then sent in a robotic camera and were finally able to gain access to the home where they found the woman wrapped in a blanket, wearing the gas mask and refusing to move.
Officers had to use a taser to subdue the woman and arrest her.
The woman, whose name has not been released by authorities will most likely face animal cruelty charges as well as resisting arrest and obstruction of justice.
