Three individuals are featured on this week's most wanted list in Montrose.

Oftentimes, we may read about people charged with particular crimes without truly understanding exactly what those legal terms mean. Consequently, before we get to this week's most wanted list, let me shed some light on a couple of the charges that appear in this week's report and hopefully it will give you a better understanding of what's happening.

POSSESSION OF A FORGED INSTRUMENT

According to courts.state.co.us, possession of a forged instrument occurs when a person possessed any forged written instrument (document) "with the knowledge it was forged and with intent to use it to defraud."

WHAT IS CRIMINAL MISCHIEF?

It's pretty simple. Criminal Mischief occurs when someone knowingly damages another person's property. This can occur even if the damaged property is jointly owned by the victim and the accused person.
