A Longmont High School senior was given the ultimate surprise, a $20,000 surprise. The senior was surprised with a $20,000 college scholarship.

On Thursday (April 26) Brandon Staple was pulled away from lunch out of nowhere. A whole lot of Foot Locker employees, a few minutes and an annoucement later -- Brandon received $20,000.

Brandon said that he forgot that he applied for the scholarship. But once he saw those signature black and white Foot Locker shirts, he knew. The Longmont principal made the announcement to the cafeteria and of course, the room exploded with applause.

Brandon is now the first Colorado student to receive the Foot Locker Scholar Athletes Program scholarship. Brandon is an amazing soccer player. This isn't the only scholarship this bright student has won. Brandon received a $5,000 Wendy's Heisman scholarship.

He says his plans for college include going to medical school and researching cancer. Good thing he's got some of his college costs covered. Brandon truly sounds like a smart, great student/person and I can't wait to see what else he achieves.
