Lions Keep Giants Winless, 24-10
Matthew Stafford threw for two touchdowns and the Detroit Lions beat the New York Giants, 24-10, at the Meadowlands on Monday night. Detroit (2-0) stayed undefeated with the victory, while New York (0-2) remained 0-for-2017.
Up 17-10 heading into the fourth quarter, the Lions broke the game open on Jamal Agnew’s electrifying 88-yard punt return for a score. Detroit pressured Giants’ quarterback Eli Manning all game, sacking him five times and holding him to just 239 yards passing with a touchdown and an interception.
New York has scored just 13 points in the season’s first two games. Receiver Odell Beckham Jr. was not a factor in his first game back after a preseason ankle injury. He had just four catches for 36 yards.
