Grand Junction's Labor Day weekend will be happening without KC & the Sunshine Band.

The concert was scheduled to take place Sunday night at the Amphitheater at Las Colonias Park. The concert has been rescheduled for May 30, 2020, at the Amphitheater.

A KC & the Sunshine Band fan club member called me and told me they were told the postponement was due to KC needing to return to his Florida home where hurricane Dorian is bearing down.

While the news is certainly disappointing for concert fans, this sort of thing is quite common in the concert industry. Concerts regularly have to be postponed or canceled for a variety of factors whether it has to do with health reasons or other unforeseen circumstances - such as a hurricane. Stuff happens. It's disappointing for fans and a nightmare for promoters, but life goes on. It will be okay.

The good news is this concert is still going to happen in Grand Junction, but not until next year. Just put those "boogie shoes" on the shelf for now and get ready to "get down" next May. If you have tickets for the show, hold on to them and they will be valid at next year's concert. For refunds, you should return to your point of purchase. If you got tickets from Ticketmaster,  you should call them directly at 1-800-653-8000.
