JUCO Begins Saturday at Grand Junction's Suplizio Field

The Alpine Bank Junior College World Series, also known as JUCO – it’s definitely a Grand Junction tradition.

The top 10 junior college teams from throughout the country have traveled to Grand Junction to complete in the 8-day tournament at Grand Junction’s Suplizio Field. JUCO games officially start at 9:00 a.m. Saturday.

Personally speaking, JUCO is much more than just watching a good baseball game. Attending a JUCO game is more like attending a huge social event.

From beach balls bouncing up and down throughout the stands, to several attempts of “the wave” encircling the entire stadium, to watching young kids going up to players asking for their autograph – overall, it’s just a feel-good atmosphere for the entire tournament.
