Sure, just like any other place, there are drawbacks, including areas with more crime than others, but countless Coloradans will likely echo the opinion that the Centennial State is a nice place to raise a family.
However, a new study has shown that while Colorado is one of the better states to raise a family in 2025, it's not necessarily the best.
10 States Are Better to Raise a Family in 2025 Than Colorado
A new study shows that Colorado is the 11th best state in the country for families. The list, which was recently published by WalletHub, was determined using criteria such as the number of family fun activities to be had, health, safety, education, childcare, and affordability.

The states that have been deemed better for families than Colorado in 2025 include Connecticut in 10th place, Maine at number nine, Wisconsin at number eight, Illinois at number seven, New York at number six, New Hampshire at number five, Nebraska at number four, North Dakota at number three, Minnesota at number two, and the best state for families in 2025 is Massachusetts.
Interestingly, Colorado's neighbor to the south, New Mexico, was ranked the worst state for families, followed by Mississippi, West Virginia, Nevada, and Oklahoma.
