Every time a heavy rock and/or metal show comes to the city, you can count on a packed house, typically either at the Mesa Theater or Las Colonias Amphitheatre, comprised of familiar faces in black t-shirts.

However, an upcoming three-day music festival featuring local, heavy bands is set to take place at an establishment that isn't necessarily known as a venue that caters to the aforementioned metal audience. That is, not yet.
The Inaugural DeathFest 2025 is Coming to Grand Junction Colorado
The festival, appropriately called DeathFest, will be taking place at Desert Bloom Gardening and Mushrooms, a hydroponic shop that has been serving the community at its location at 445 Pitkin Avenue since 2009.

The festival will take place over the course of three days, beginning on Friday, May 23, and running through Sunday, May 25, with 15 bands scheduled in total.
Friday's bands include NVR ENDVR, Haxanscythe, Bourne of Execration, Savage Beating, and Counter Violence, followed by performances on Saturday from [SALT] Paste, Moonfarmer, Edging for Brownies, Black Mold U.S.A., and Handbrake Hero, and finally on Sunday we'll see performances from Trailer Swift, Drug School, Minor Malfunction, Levi Corpus and Diced.
DeathFest 2025 is an all-ages show from Deathslope Productions, and for more information, check out the official event page on Facebook.
