
From Grand Junction to the Nationals: Colorado Mesa University’s Archery Team on the Rise
Colorado Mesa University in Grand Junction, Colorado, is known for its many athletic programs, including baseball, football, and track, to name a few.

However, after being implemented only a few years ago, the university’s archery team is already competing on a national level and being praised for its skilled members.
Colorado Mesa University Competed on a National Level
On Saturday, October 1, 2025, the Colorado Mesa University archery team competed in the USA Archery Collegiate 3D Nationals in Foley, Alabama, finishing 15th out of the 24 teams in attendance.
The team, which has only been in existence since 2022, was one of three to be added to the competition this year, alongside Missouri Valley College Archery in Marshall, Missouri, and Pearl River Community College in Poplarville, Mississippi.
Archers competed in categories such as recurve, compound, barebow, and fixed pin competitions.
Colorado Mesa University also competed against schools like Texas A&M University, Ohio’s University of Rio Grande, Missouri’s Lindenwood University, Kentucky’s Lindsey Wilson College, Tennessee’s Carson-Newman University, and Ohio’s private Muskingum University.
Colorado Mesa University’s Archery Team is Fundraising
The new archery team is currently fundraising by selling Butter Braids, which are snacks that come in flavors like apple, cream cheese, Bavarian Creme, caramel, four cheese and herb, and strawberry and cream cheese, to name a few.
