However, a new list published by USA Today listing the "best amphitheaters" in the nation not only places Red Rocks criminally low on its ranking, but it places other, less popular outdoor Colorado music venues above the sacred, historic natural amphitheater.
USA Today Ranks Three Colorado Amphitheaters as the Best
USA Today published its list of the 10 Best Amphitheaters in the United States on May 21, where it placed Dillon Amphitheatre at number nine, Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater in Vail at number four, and Red Rocks Amphitheatre at number seven.

While both Dillon Amphitheatre and Gerald R. Ford Amphitheatre are undoubtedly amazing, beautiful settings to enjoy a performance, popular opinion among concert goers would undoubtedly place Red Rocks above either of the aforementioned Colorado venues on any occasion.
In addition, Red Rocks is not only a natural amphitheatre given to us by nature, but it has a ton of history, including a landmark concert from The Beatles in 1964 that is celebrated on its anniversary each year, numerous concert films including U2's 'Under a Blood Red Sky,' as well as countless unforgettable productions courtesy of the late Barry Fey.
