Abandoned Historic Colorado Mansion + its Fascinating Backstory

Minnie Adams's boarding house was originally built in a different location than where it stands today but was disassembled and moved in 1907 due to the implementation of I-70.

Inspired by Mount Vernon, the boarding house consisted of 22 small rooms but was later remodeled into a bed and breakfast that would see many guests, even some celebrities, pass through.

It was at this period of time that the mansion was known as Adams Hotel, but was later renamed Tarado Mansion prior to becoming abandoned.

Again, it is important to keep in mind that the Tarado Mansion is private property and trespassing is strictly prohibited for safety and legal reasons.

However, you can take a virtual tour of the exterior of this massive, historic mansion located in the middle of nowhere in Arriba, Colorado.
