This Has Been Named the Coolest Thing Made in Colorado
As it would turn out, there’s plenty of awesome things that are created right here in Colorado.
Personally, as a big fan of beer, it’s awesome that New Belgium is in Fort Collins. It feels like here, the supply of Juice Force never seems to run dry.
However, something that Colorado has been doing over the past few years that is meant to put a shine on local creations is the annual “Coolest Things Made in Colorado Contest”.
In 2022, the winner was the SunSpring Hybrid purification system, which is a portable solar and wind powered water purification system.
Last year’s winner was handed out to Lockhead Martin’s OSIRIS=REx spacecraft, which was sent out on a mission to collect samples from asteroids.
Now, a new winner has been crowned in Colorado, and it’s absolutely deserving of the title.
Freedom Trax Named the “Coolest Thing Made in Colorado” for 2024
Recently, the Colorado Chamber of Commerce released their annual winner of the “Coolest Thing Made in Colorado”.
This year, it went to a device called the Freedom Trax.
The Freedom Trax, which is made in Golden, Colorado by Tour Engineering, is designed as an attachment for manual wheelchairs that allows users to use their chair offroad.
The motorized device attaches to the bottom of the chair, basically replacing the wheels, and allows for people using the wheelchair to be able to go over many different ground conditions.
This allows people using manual wheelchairs to be able to not only explore nature, but without needing someone to push them.
Plus, by having the Freedom Trax on, it can allow people much more mobility than their old wheels.
Colorado Governor Jared Polis was actually the keynote speaker for the event, He also congratulated the winner as well.
