Grand Junction Colorado's Downtown Market On Main

The 2024 Market On Main kicks off on July 1, 2024, and runs every Thursday night through September 26, 2024.

How Many People Attend Grand Junction's Market On Main?

This is a big event for the Grand Valley. According to downtown Grand Junction's official webpage:

The Market on Main presented by Fairway Mortgage is summertime’s signature event in Grand Junction, and is a showcase of farm products from the Western Slope and around Colorado. The Market on Main is a summer-long community event series drawing an estimated 5,000 visitors per week.

Live Music and Dance at Two Locations in Downtown

The Market On Main runs two different stages on Thursday nights from 5:30 to 8:30 (8:00 later in the season). One is located at the southwest corner of 4th and Main, better known as the chrome buffalo statue in front of Wells Fargo bank. The other stage is at the 600 block of Main.

Intermission at 4th and Main

If you're a dance fan, be sure to visit the stage at 4th and Main Thursday nights at 6:30. When the band at that location goes on break, you'll be treated to a performance from one of Grand Junction's dance groups.

Make An Evening Out Of It

Looking at the 2024 schedule, you'll see ensembles performing everything from Big Band to Country, Rock to Jazz.

Bring a lawn chair, find a good spot, and make an evening out of the performance. You might even bring your dance shoes. You'll see several dancers, i.e. the Marvins, at these shows. When you factor in the admission cost of FREE, these shows at Grand Junction's Market On Main are pretty hard to beat.

Of course, while you're enjoying the music, produce, and arts and crafts, be sure to visit your downtown Grand Junction merchants and restaurants.

Entertainment Lineup for Downtown Grand Junction's 2024 'Market on Main'

It's finally here, downtown Grand Junction, Colorado's awesome "Market on Main." This annual event brings some of Western Colorado's best produce, confections, and of course arts and crafts to Main Street in downtown Grand Junction.

What's just as enjoyable as the amazing produce? Live music, and tons of it! Each Thursday, beginning July 11, 2024, and running through September 26, 2024, offers a variety of entertainment. You'll enjoy everything from bands performing Country, Rock, and even Big Band, as well as a number of area dance groups.

You'll find live bands at two locations on Main Street:

4th and Main
600 Block of Main Street

Live music kicks off at 5:30 pm at both locations, and ends at 8:30 pm. The location at 4th and Main also features additional entertainment at intermission (6:30 pm).

Heads up! As the season progresses, and as the sun begins to set earlier and earlier, the bands will conclude their performances 30 minutes earlier at 8 pm. The shorter sets begin on September 5, 2024.

Bring a chair, water, sunscreen, and maybe most importantly, your portable dance floor, and get ready for a great time. Seriously, some concert goers actually bring their own portable dance floors.

Downtown Grand Junction Businesses of Yesterday

If you stop and think about it, several of the business pictured above are still up and running. Most of these photos were taken in the 1950s. Almost 70 years later, many are still going strong. Sure, some have moved to new locations, but others, Quincy's for example, are right where they've always been.

Grab your lawn chair, sunscreen, and bug spray, and get ready for Colorado's hottest FREE concert series. The City of Fruita invites you to enjoy amazing free concerts all summer long at Fruita's Civic Center Park.

The 2024 lineup has been announced, and it features some old favorites and a few new faces. At the price of FREE, this concert series is hard to beat. No tickets are needed. Simply round up the family and friends and set a course for Fruita every Thursday night from June 6 to August 15, 2024.

Please note: There will be no concert on Thursday, July 4.
