The World's Largest Watercolor Painting

The World's largest watercolor painting is a 16 X 10 work of art on display as you walk through the doors of the Museum of Northwestern Colorado. The painting is the work of local artist Israel Holloway. The job took nearly three months to complete. The mural is entitled “Western Reflections.” The cowboy depicted in the photo is Craig resident Clint Chew and his horse Arrow walking in the Yampa River. Where is The Museum of Northwest Colorado

The museum was opened in 1964. It's located at 590 Yampa Ave, in Craig, Colorado.

The timelapse video below shows artist Israel Holloway hard at work inside the museum. To fill a 16 X 10 mural with watercolor takes a lot of work. It took hours of painting with tiny brushes to get the details right. Watch the painting come together below, and plan a visit to see it in person.
