Have You Seen The Funky New Colorado Rockies Uniforms?
To be fair, Colorado sunsets are pretty amazing each and every night in the summer, as the blue sky starts to turn yellow, then orange, then red as the day goes black into the night.
I Just didn't expect to see all that on a single jersey - which is exactly the vibe the Colorado Rockies are going for with their new City Connect uniforms.
The Rockies will sport this new look for the first time this Friday, April 18 at Coors Field in a game against the Washington Nationals.

Nike has spearheaded the City Connect project since 2021, connecting Major League Baseball franchises with the cities they play in. The Rockies' last version of this uniform sported a Colorado license plate vibe which most thought was pretty cool and has since become relatively iconic in the state.
Now, with a primary light blue vibe, coupled with purple and the fusion of sunset and sunrise colors, the combination reflects and pays homage to the transition from day to night.
Inspired by Colorado's iconic sunrises and sunsets from the Rocky Mountains, our colors reflect a palette that pays homage to that perfect transition between day and night. A blend of bluebird skies against the backdrop of purple mountain majesty, highlighted by brilliant orange and pink, bright and hopeful.
To quote Dodgeball, "that's a bold strategy, Cotton."

I'm not saying I don't like the new look, but I much preferred the iconic Colorado license plate look of the previous City Connect unis. Here's hoping this new homage to the teams namesake - the Rocky Mountains - can inspire some winning baseball each and every Friday at home this season to come.
You can check out the team's breakdown of how the jerseys were designed and even buy your own on the Colorado Rockies website.
