Enough of the Cold: When Does Colorado ‘Spring Forward?’
When the forecast for mid-January is calling for bitter-cold temperatures, Coloradans' hearts look forward to 'springing forward' into warmer weather and more sunshine.
While we are probably years away from Colorado not turning the clocks back in fall, I like the way things are. I like the lamenting of "Falling Back," and the excitement of "Springing Forward;" it's about celebrating the four seasons.
States like Florida and Nevada hardly notice the change, at all.
Daylight Saving Time Begins Before Winter Turns to Spring
It always seems easy, for me, to remember when Standard Time resumes in the fall - it's the weekend after Halloween. It was in 2005 that the government put in place the "standard" dates on calendar when the time changes would happen.

I remember the Halloween part, as Standard Time resumes on the first Sunday of November, so it's always going to be after Halloween. In 2025, Halloween is Friday, October 31, and we'll "Fall Back" two nights later.
When Do We 'Spring Forward' in 2025?
Again, back in 2005, the government set "standard" dates on the calendar for the time changes; Daylight Saving Time always begins on the second Sunday of March. So, in 2025, we'll "Spring Forward" on Sunday, March 9.

I cannot wait for Sunday, March 9; OK, I'm honestly looking forward to March 20 a little more, as that's the first day of Spring.
Either way, once the sun starts staying out later, I'm "all in:" Patios, disc golf, hikes, walks along the rec trails across Colorado, just having the sun on my face.
