One Beautiful Colorado Mountain Town Makes List Of ’30 For a Magical Christmas’
Living in Colorado, you sometimes forget how wonderful and beautiful it is. People from around the world travel to Colorado for Christmas, and there's one town in particular, that they should be seeking out.
If you're looking for the "perfect" Christmas holiday, having it look like you stepped into some sort of Hallmark movie with a cheesy name, like "Chestnuts and Mistletoe," Colorado has more than a few spots.
One, however, is the only Colorado town to make a list of 30 ranked as "Best" for a magical holiday.
On a list of 30 towns that are "Best Christmas Towns for a Magical Winter Getaway," the folks at House Beautiful list many towns across America that we've heard of:
- New York, New York.
- Park City, Utah.
- Santa Fe, New Mexico.
- Jackson, Wyoming.
- Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.

There are some towns on the list that some of us in Colorado may NOT have heard of, for example:
- Clifton, Ohio.
- Natchitoches, Louisiana.
- Boothbay, Maine.
- Frankenmuth, Michigan.
What can make you feel better about not knowing those towns, is people in those towns may not have heard of the Colorado town list on that Top 30.
WHAT COLORADO TOWN IS NOTED AS "BEST FOR A CHRISTMAS GETAWAY?"
Coming in at #23 out of 30 on House Beautiful's list is Durango.
WHY DO THEY PUT DURANGO ON THIS "CHRISTMAS" LIST?
It's because of that great experience in Durango, The Polar Express train ride. It's been happening for nearly 20 years, as part of the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad.
It runs about $40 up to about $95 for an adult rider to experience the train trip to the North Pole to pick up Santa Claus; with treats, a light show, and Christmas magic along the way.
