Rumors That Denver Is Interested in Aaron Rodgers Still Out There
I thought it was an April Fool's joke, but apparently it's a legit rumor. Aaron Rodgers may be making his way to Colorado?
Fueled by speculation the Broncos are looking for insurance in case quarterback Bo Nix isn't fully recovered from ankle surgery by the start of the 2026 season, there have been multiple reports that Denver may be interested in securing Aaron Rodgers' services this year.
He played for the Pittsburgh Steelers last year, getting bounced from the playoffs in the first round. Longtime Steelers head coach Mike Tomlinson promptly resigned after the season.
What makes the rumor interesting is that Pittsburgh then hired former Green Bay and Dallas head coach Mike McCarthy, who won a Super Bowl with Rodgers and the Packers back in the 2010 season. Many speculate that reunion in Pittsburgh would be reason to stay - but some say it may be reason to leave.

When I say his coming to Denver appears to be a "legit rumor," I say that because it was first reported by ProFootballTalk and Mike Florio, who is typically considered to be reputable source for NFL news.
But Denver media has been quick to shut it down, saying that Pittsburgh is more than likely to re-sign him, and that the Broncos - rightly - are focused on the continued development of Bo Nix, who has rejuvenated the excitement of Broncos fans in the last few years.
Additionally, many say the Broncos would have been very likely to beat the Patriots in the AFC Championship last year if Nix didn't break his ankle, and could very well have won the Super Bowl.
Since that offseason surgery, there have also been reports of Nix being well ahead of schedule to return to the team activities as early as mini camp in May.
My guess is this is all gossip and won't happen. But it's still odd that it's being discussed at all.
