Measles is extremely contagious and is a major concern when there is an outbreak. The easiest way to detect measles is by noticing a red rash on your body.

Typically the rash will be noticeable on your face before it spreads to the rest of your body.

Measles is more than just a rash. Measles can lead to serious symptoms such as pneumonia, fever, and seizures. Measles can be deadly as well.

Measles is not extremely common in Colorado. However, due to Denver International Airport being a global hub, our state unfortunately gets exposed to the virus.

The CDC is alerting all Americans of a measles outbreak. There have already been 58 cases of the contagious disease. Most of the cases involved children.

The CDC says that nearly all of the active cases are due to international travel. 17 states around the nation have had a case of measles during the 2024 year. Thankfully none of the cases have been linked to Colorado, yet.

Definitely not. Since measles is typically linked to international travel we should be concerned.

Denver International Airport had 77 million passengers last year all across the globe. Since DIA is one of the most active and largest airports across the globe, a case of measles could potentially come to Colorado.

To avoid measles, doctors recommend getting vaccinations to avoid getting the deadly disease.
