Eldora Mountain’s Co-Working Collective Returns for Ski Season
Many Coloradans work remotely, which provides freedom and flexibility regarding where they work each day. Whether at a coffee shop or another location, having the option to work from almost anywhere is a plus for remote-based employees. A change of scenery is good for the brain too.
The ideal workday in Colorado could even include taking a few runs on the slopes between calls or meetings, thanks to Boulder entrepreneur and ski enthusiast, Adam Kroll who's made this a possibility at Eldora Mountain.
Two years ago, Kroll created a free co-working collective that puts real meaning to "work hard, play harder." The group meets at Eldora Mountain's West Wing Lodge every Thursday and the first Friday of the month during ski season.
Participants sign up for voluntary shifts to watch each other's laptops/belongings so they can step out of the slopeside office to take a run or two down the mountain.
Attendees are rewarded with Eldora swag just for showing up and are also given a punch card for the opportunity to earn additional prizes. Entry into exclusive product giveaways is also offered. Even if you're not planning on skiing or riding, working from the resort is a refreshing place to be for the day, with some pretty epic views. Another major perk - free coffee!
The dedicated workspace is equipped with partitioned high-speed WiFi, which helps to prevent any network lagging. Charging stations with multiple ports are set up on the tables. Signs are posted to let others know to be quiet and considerate of those working in the West Wing. The whole thing is relatively low-key and perfect for people with flexible schedules.
There are 24 scheduled events for the 2024-'25 ski season; two have already taken place. See the rest of the Eldora work dates here.
Welcoming remote workers during weekdays is an effective way for Eldora to boost visitation. Although several ski resorts nationwide offer similar programs, Eldora stands out as the only one in Colorado doing so.
