The heist took place on April 1... And no, this is not an April Fool's Day prank. Authorities did not realize the 600 pounds of marijuana were gone until three days later.

An evidence technician discovered the damage on the property and the marijuana that was missing.

Theft Showcases Bigger Problem in Arapahoe County

The Colorado Sun says that law enforcement has found security gaps at the facility. After having 600 pounds of marijuana stolen, law enforcement is adding more security cameras to avoid future thefts.

Right now, an internal investigation is taking place. Colorado law enforcement is continuing to investigate and try to pinpoint who committed this crime.

The marijuana was part of a highway drug investigation. A major roadblock is that there was no active investigation for the marijuana.
