A Hoppy Day This Utah Brewery Just Turned Five
Utah has several breweries and one of those breweries in Southern Utah has just turned five.
Now, when I say several breweries, I actually mean there are fifty-eight breweries that call Utah home. Yes, you read that correctly, fifty-eight breweries call Utah home, and one of those is located in Cedar City.
Before I tell you about Cedar City’s brewery, let’s find out a bit more about beer.
Beer has been around for a very long time. From the Smithsonian Magazine archeologist Patrick McGovern "Has identified the world’s oldest known barley beer (from Iran’s Zagros Mountains, dating to 3400 B.C.), the oldest grape wine (also from the Zagros, circa 5400 B.C.) and the earliest known booze of any kind, a Neolithic grog from China’s Yellow River Valley brewed some 9,000 years ago".
There are several different types of beer. The ale types include Pale Ale, Real Ale, and Mild Ale. There are also Stouts, Lambic, and Lager.
If this has made you curious about beer and beer making, I’ll attach the fundamental steps for brewing beer from The Beer Connoisseur here.
Policy Kings has been part of Cedar City since 2016 and was created because Sarah and Dre have a love for beer and had a dream to open a brewery.
Saturday, Policy Kings celebrated their fifth anniversary with a barbeque feast and of course tasty beer.
If you want to be part of the next birthday feast, I suggest you follow Policy Kings on Instagram as people ended up being turned away because there was not enough food.
Policy Kings is located at 223 North 100 West, and I’ll leave a link to their website here.
Oh, remember that Utah has fifty-eight breweries thing I was telling you about earlier? Well, Policy Kings is part of the Utah Ale Trail and I’ll link their website here.
