I guess it depends on if you're thinking of small-town Colorado or the bigger cities in our state, but typically I think of Colorado as safe. I may be wrong.

According to a study done by WalletHub regarding the 2021 Safest States in America, we rank at number 34. What?!? That's right. Colorado came in at number 34 for a safe state. Number one was Vermont. Number 50 was Lousiana.

So what about our neighbors? Wyoming ranked 25. New Mexico was 22. Utah came in at number 5. Arizona at 24. Wow. We came in so much lower on the list.

WalletHub compared the 50 states across 55 key metrics. The data set ranges from the percentage of residents who are fully vaccinated to assaults per capita and the unemployment rate. Personal safety, road safety, work safety, and financial safety were all a part of the ranking.
