Grand Junction Sees Another Armed Robbery at a North Avenue Business
Another North Avenue business was robbed at gunpoint early Thursday morning. This makes three armed robberies within two and a half miles of one another in just over a month.
Police responded to an armed robbery at Slick Ricks Entertainment at 2923 North Avenue. According to the Mesa County Sheriff's Office Facebook page, the suspect demanded money at gunpoint, and escaped on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.
You may recall on March 23 of this year when an armed robbery occurred at the Pizza Hut at 1440 North Avenue.
Barely a week before that, a white male in his mid-20s, roughly 6-feet tall with a thin build, was suspected of robbing the Burger King at 1730 North Avenue.
Fortunately, Grand Junction is still small enough an armed robbery is considered out of the ordinary. With that in mind, it becomes very obvious that an inordinate number of armed robberies have occurred in a finite amount of space. Check out the map:
Grand Junction residents have posted via social media the close proximity of the crimes. Some have gone on to speculate the possibility of a common thread.
