One Clear Standout Every Kid in Grand Junction Colorado Loved

If you grew up around here, there's a strong probability you had one of these. It revolutionized the toy industry. Add the various "accessories" they eventually rolled out, and you had a phenomenon. How well do you remember this?

My poor parents. With each new stunt cycle, chopper, rocket, and action playset, the wish list got longer.

I believe there may be a number of simple explanations for why this toy was so popular around Grand Junction:

If you stop and think about it, several of the business pictured above are still up and running. Most of these photos were taken in the 1950s. Almost 70 years later, many are still going strong. Sure, some have moved to new locations, but others, Quincy's for example, are right where they've always been.
